Located at the iconic King George Square, the 2011 Brisbane Winter Festival offers a myriad of winter indulgences from the exhilarating to the mouth-watering, including an array of gourmet winter food, dazzling action on the ice including thrilling ice shows and performances, and cosy indoor woodfires.
Brisbane thrillseekers can enjoy a skate on the 900sq m outdoor ice skating rink, while food-lovers can sample delicious dishes from more than 20 countries.
Feeling the cool? Relax and warm up with a traditional GlUhwein (authentic mulled wine) by the fireplace or enjoy a steaming chai in the Lipton Chai Latte Lodge.
Entry to the Brisbane Winter Festival is free. Ice skating can be booked online, and costs from $20 for adults and $15 for kids. This includes a 45-minute skating lesson. Skate hire is $7. Ice skating sessions sell out quickly, so booking online at www.winterfestival.com.au/brisban e is recommended.
