I'll be cooking at the Central Ohio Home & Garden Show this weekend, both for the special that airs at 7:30 p.m. Saturday on 10TV and again, live, on Sunday at noon. Stop by and say hi -- and enjoy these recipes at home! It's not by accident that the two recipes go great together!

QUICK WHITE CHILI

Makes 4 servings

This is a great variation from the traditional long-cooked red chili. If you like spicier chili, add a minced fresh jalapeno while sauteeing the onion.

2 tablespoons vegetable oil

1 pound ground pork, chicken or turkey

1 onion, chopped

4 garlic cloves, minced

2 tablespoons cornmeal

1 tablespoon chili powder

1 teaspoon ground cumin

1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)

1 can (14.5 ounces) low-salt chicken broth

1 can (15 to 16 ounces) white beans, rinsed, drained

Salt and pepper to taste

Chopped fresh cilantro (optional)

Crushed tortilla chips (optional)
