Gardeners are being warned to keep their property safe after a gang of furry thieves ran amok in Richmond.
The Richmond and Twickenham Times revealed last week the plight of Whitton resident John Muir, who was left puzzled after six pairs of gardening gloves went missing over a three-week period in May.
After initially blaming absentminded-ness, further investigation revealed he had become the victim of a glove-loving squirrel.
A warning has now gone out, as it appears wildlife of the borough is helping itself to a whole new wardrobe Doug Goodman, from Clifden Road, Twickenham, became the latest victim after a gardening shoe and a sandal were pinched from his patio last weekend.
Although he initially believed his wife Celia was playing tricks on him, he soon discovered the shoe thief was of a much hairier type.
