Company introduces new lithium-ion range

Outdoor power tool manufacturer Stihl has harnessed lithium-ion technology to produce a new line of environmentally responsible products, eliminating fuel costs and exhaust emissions.

The new cordless range consists of a chainsaw, two grass trimmers, two hedge trimmers and a hand-held leaf blower.

Powered by rechargeable 36 V lithium-ion batteries, the products are designed to deliver long-lasting performance with low noise and zero exhaust emissions, says Stihl South Africa MD Hayden Hutton .

“Easy to start and simple to use, it also offers the convenience of not having to mix fuel or use a power cable.”

Designed for use by both professionals and homeowners, the range is suitable for use in noise-restricted areas and enclosed areas such as hospitals, greenhouses, residential complexes, shopping malls, golf courses and cemeteries.

Stihl has paid close attention to ergo-nomics. All products in the range are light and compact in design, with excellent balance and low vibration, says Hutton.
