Galleries welcome the arrival of spring

Bronze Coast Gallery announces the arrival of several new works by two relative newcomers to the gallery, Mark Gatewood and Melissa Cooper. Cooper sculpts wildlife with a focus on birds. Gatewood has two new paintings, both done with acrylics and resin on curved wood frames. He incorporates a sculptural aspect to his paintings, using three dimensional casts of industrial resin painted in layers and applied to the surface of the structure, creating a very dramatic and involving visual experience.

Did you see the 430 lb. crate left on the street in downtown Cannon Beach in front of Village Centre last week? In it was a new 44-inch giclee printer that George Vetter will be using at George Vetter Foto Art. Too heavy and big to get up the stairs in the package, it had to be unpacked in a parking spot in the rain. With the help of David Marshall, Kim Barnett, Luke and Paula, it was muscled upstairs, where it will be put into action printing George’s photos and giclee art prints for some local artists.
